Public Housing
Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority operates a Public Housing program for the benefit of low-income families, senior citizens and disabled persons.  Under the Public Housing Program, LMHA manages three developments: Jackson Towers, Washington Square and Woodlawn Homes, all located in Painesville, Ohio.  Under Public Housing, LMHA serves as owner and landlord of the development, and charges a rent to the household based on the household income (roughly 30% of monthly income).  The Department of Housing and Urban Development provides subsidy to cover the difference between rents charged and the costs to operate the housing.
