Job Description

The Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority is looking for an HCV Certification Specialist I to conduct recertification activities with respect to the Housing Choice Voucher Program.  Conducts annual recertification appointments to assess participant eligibility; obtains required documentation for participant files; determines participant’s continued eligibility or ineligibility; prepares timely correspondence; advises eligible participants of Housing Authority functions, program rules and regulations; enters accurate data into appropriate systems; conducts quality control of HCV files.

The successful candidate must possess attention to detail and prior experience in a professional office environment.  Will need to gain knowledge of agency policies and procedures, HUD rules and regulations governing housing choice voucher programs.  Good English, grammar and spelling; office practices and procedures; data processing techniques; interviewing techniques; records management; knowledgeable of community resources and services.

Qualifications:

Completion of secondary education (high school or GED), supplemented by coursework in computer operations and office practices and procedures, plus two  (2) years of general office, clerical, or secretarial experience, with one (1) year in job-related field or equivalent.
