Full Time Maintenance Custodian

Performs unskilled grounds keeping duties (e.g., repairing signs, mowing, weeding, reseeding, fertilizing, and applying herbicides, insecticides, etc., planting greenery, trimming, sweeping walks, leaf collection, plowing, shoveling snow, salting, patching parking lots and drives); performs snow removal from public walkways during weekends and holidays as well as during work week; answers tenant emergency calls.

Obtains work orders and performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor in order to assist with the maintenance of Housing Authority properties and facilities (e.g., painting, patching, waxing, carpet cleaning, light carpentry, unclogs sinks, commodes, and tubs, replaces receptacles, light switches, and fuses, etc.

Develops, fosters, and maintains a good relationship with residents.

Answers emergency service calls after normal business hours (after 5:30 p.m. week days and any time during weekends and holidays).

Prepares vacant units for occupancy (e.g., patches and paints walls, strips and buffs floors, cleans appliances and windows, etc.).

Full-time Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Certification Specialist

Completion of secondary education (high school or GED), supplemented by coursework in computer operations and office practices and procedures, plus two (2) years of general office, clerical, or secretarial experience, with one (1) year of experience in job-related field, or equivalent.

Processes Annual and Interim Re-Examinations for current HCV participants.

Conducts recertification activities with respect to the housing choice voucher program; receives  annual documentation and conducts  annual re-certification appointments to assess  participant eligibility; obtains required documentation for participant file (e.g., reference checks, release forms, employment/income verification, asset verification, etc.); determines  participant’s continued eligibility or ineligibility in accordance with applicable policies and procedures and federal guidelines.
